[MODULAR SHELVING SET]
san francisco. cal 2025
STATUS / COMPLETEDFour individually crafted shelving pieces, each designed to be a stand alone unit or come together to form a single, unified structure standing nine feet tall and ten feet wide.
Guided by the user's appreciation for nature, each piece features exposed wood with a food-grade tung oil finish.
The edges of every shelf are shaped with flowing organic curves, following a pattern that is consistent across the set on each level yet entirely unique to each individual piece. This layered approach draws its inspiration from topographic maps — those two-dimensional drawings that capture the shape, elevation, and soul of a three-dimensional landscape.
At the roots of the design the defining pattern used to create the combination of curves and lines that flows through every shelf was born from the influence of the cardiac cycle aka the rhythm of a heartbeat. A quiet reminder that the most enduring designs are the ones that carry meaning.
